The only festival of its kind in America! A collaboration between
poets, jazz musicians and painters. Still, after 10 years the only
completely free festival on the west coast. The Beat goes on!
Experience an intimate festival filled with poetry readings and
painting improvisation set to the rhythm of live jazz. This is a
unique opportunity for attendees to experience exclusive performances
by well-known jazz musicians, jazz painters, and poets. There will be
over 200 musicians and poets performing.

This 10th annual event is the premier collaborative festival in the
region. Combining visual art and music, the event will feature jazz
musicians and painters simultaneously creating improvisational
artworks. Our two live venues will feature the artists working at a
rapid pace in a public venue — a unique and exclusive privilege for
the audience.

This year don’t miss Bobby Bradford Quartet, featuring Vinny Golia,
Tina Raymond Sand David Tranchina. Bobby Bradford is a very important
American Jazz musician, band leader and composer. He has worked with
notable musicians such as Ornette Coleman and John Carter. Also,
playing this year, The Year of the Trumpet, with Bill Ortiz, Darren
Johnston, Hal Forman and more! Bill Ortiz is well known as being the
trumpet player for Santana and is one of the most in demand players in
the San Francisco Bay area. He has performed and recorded with a
diverse group of artists such as The Dramatics, Destiny’s Child, En
Vogue, Cecil Taylor and Johnny “Guitar” Watson to name a few!

In collaboration with the jazz musicians, painters Laura Hohlwein and
Myron Stephens will be painting in harmony with the live music.
