Claim and Manage Your Downtown Business Listing

To manage your business listing on the davisdowntown.com website, you first need to create a user account. After creating your user account, you will be able to claim and manage the listing for your downtown business. Claiming and managing your business listing enables you to tailor your business listing to meet your ongoing marketing needs.

Find and click on the Create an Account button which is located along the right side of your browser window. On a mobile device, you will have to scroll down the page to find the button. Upon selecting the button, you will be re-directed to the account registration page.

Enter username and email address. Your username can be anything you want, but it must be unique. If your choice for username is already taken, you will receive an error message. Try a different username. Press “Register” when ready.

Check your email

We will send you an email to set the password for your account. Follow the link in the email. You will be directed to a page where you can set the password for your account. You can use the random password that is automatically generated for you or you can enter a password of your choosing. When you are ready, press the “Reset Password” button.

After you set your password, you can use your username and password combination to login to the DavisDowntown.com website.

You can always reach the DavisDowntown login page directly at http://davisdowntown.com/wp-login.php

At this point, there are two options. You can either claim an existing business directory listing or add a new business. To determine which route to go, visit our business listing page at http://davisdowntown.com/business-listings/ and use various search features of the business directory to find your business listing.

If you find your business listing, follow the process found in the Claim an Existing Business section.

If you can’t find your business listing, go to the Adding a New Business section.

Log in with your username and password combination using the Member Login page.

After login, navigate to the Davis Downtown business listing page http://davisdowntown.com/business-listing/

Scroll down the page t o the business directory section. Use the search feature to locate your business.
Click on the business name to access the details for the business listing. Here you will find the details for the business listing you would like to claim.

Find and click on the gold-tone “Claim this Listing” button.

Confirm your Contact Name, Email, and add comments about your request. This information will help confirm your identity.

Press the “Submit Claim” button when ready.

If successful, you will see the message…

Your claim has been submitted successfully. We will review your claim details and notify you if it is approved.

An email is sent to Davis Downtown so we can review the claim. We will either approve or deny your claim to the business listing.

You will receive an email if your business listing claim is either approved or denied.

If your request is approved, you can move forward with customizing your business listing. You can access your business listing using the link in the email or by using the link to your business listing in the Directory Dashboard.

If your request is denied, drop us a note so we can look further into your business claim. We sometimes receive suspicious business claims. We only want the true business owners to claim and update their business listings.

After logging in with your username and password combination, look for the link across the top of your profile page that says “Directory Dashboard.” Click on that link.

The Directory Dashboard displays the directory listings you are able to manage. Find the blue “Add Listing” button. Press the button and a drop-down menu will appear showing you the available business categories from which to choose. Select the most appropriate business category for your business.

After selecting the appropriate business category, the Add Directory Listing page will load.

Enter the Essential Info.

In the Title field, enter your business name.

In the Location field, enter your street number, street, city, state, and zip.

Press the blue “Find on map” button to confirm the location of your business. Confirm the results on the map are correct before proceeding.

Select the business-specific category for your business from the Categories drop-down menu. If your business covers multiple specific categories, you can include additional categories by using the “+Add More” button.

If you accept the Davis Downtown Gift Card, be sure to add that category. You will want to be sure that customers with the Davis Downtown Gift Card can find you.

Enter your contact information. The more information you add, the easier it is for customers to contact you and find you.

Provide a Listing Description. This is a free-form area where you can mention business details, special offers, or other important listing information.

Upload a photo to your business listing. Be sure to keep the image files as small as possible – it makes your business listing perform better.

When you are ready, press the “Submit Listing” button.

If successful, you will see the message:

Your listing has been submitted successfully. We will review your submission and post it on this site if it is approved.

An email is sent to Davis Downtown so we can review the business listing submission. We will either approve or deny your new business listing. You will receive an email if your business listing claim is either approved or denied.

If your listing request is denied, drop us a note so we can look further into your business listing.

If your listing request is approved, you can move forward with claiming the new business listing. You can access your business listing using the link in the email or by using the link to your business listing in the Directory Dashboard.

When attempting to access business listing, be sure to login with your username and password combination.

The business listing you submitted will appear in your Directory Dashboard. You can claim your business listing by clicking on the gear icon and select “Claim Your Listing” from the drop-down menu.

Confirm your Contact Name, Email, and add comments about your request. This information will help confirm your identity.

Press the “Submit Claim” button when ready.

After claiming your business, be sure to actively manage your business listing. The Davis Downtown website receives approximately 1500 visitors a week. Visitors are looking for things to do and places to go in our downtown. It is important that your business information is up-to-date.
