Summer Sidewalk Sale

We hope you enjoyed the 2023 Summer Sidewalk Sale in downtown Davis. Businesses offered some sizzling deals during the hot summer days. The sale encouraged support for our local downtown businesses and provided shoppers with a preview of merchandise and service offerings.

Shoppers were encouraged to also stay for the 2nd Friday ArtAbout, which is a regular happening in the downtown that is a vibrant celebration of community arts and culture every 2nd Friday. All in all, it was the perfect blend of creativity and retail therapy. E Street Plaza featured live music and creative chalk art.

Announcing Results Next Week

Rethought, revamped, and better than ever!
The 2023 Davis Downtown Burger Battle was a FREE EVENT for downtown restaurants.

Throughout July, we encouraged restaurants to offer a Burger Battle burger on their menu. Patrons were the judges, assigning points for every featured burger they tried. The restaurant with the highest-scoring burger will receive a trophy (and bragging rights). We’ll announce the results soon.

When: July 1-31, 2023
Where: Downtown restaurants
Goal: To entice community members to patronize downtown restaurants and try some new burgers

Restaurants were not required to create a new burger for the contest, but were encouraged to get creative. If they had multiple burgers on the menu, they had to choose one as the Burger Battle entry.

Burger tasters (using a DDBA-provided QR code) scored the burgers for taste, presentation, creativity, patty, toppings and bun. Grading was 1 to 5, with 5 being the highest.

The DDBA provided participating restaurants with small flyers with a brief description of the battle and a QR code. When tasters scanned the code, it took them to an online grading form that was then submitted to the DDBA.

Participate in our festive December activities and enjoy the holiday season in downtown Davis!

11th Annual Window Decorating Contest + Downtown Festivities

The City of Davis’ Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony was a festive, live event this year. On December 1st, the beloved Candlelight Parade was back for the first time since 2019, beginning at the Davis Food Co-op and ending at E Street Plaza. The City of Davis hosted a number of performances in E Street Plaza all evening long, along with a horse and carriage ride and other family-friendly attractions. It was definitely an evening to remember!

Davis Downtown “unwrapped” the town on December 1st as well.

December 1st to 20th – Window Decorating Contest:

Many downtown businesses went all-out to decorate their storefronts and windows. More than 20 businesses participated in the 11th annual Window Decorating Contest.

December 1st to 20th – Elf on the Shelf Scavenger Hunt:

Elf on the Shelf is the new “Where’s Waldo”! Beloved to children, we joined this renewed fad that has swept the nation. By finding the elf at participating businesses, families found the elves’ secret names and were entered to win great prizes.

2022 Father’s Day Pub Crawl

2nd Annual 2022 Father’s Day Weekend Pub Crawl
Saturday, June 18th, 2022 at 7pm

Get excited and register for Davis Downtown’s 2nd annual Father’s Day Pub Crawl to be held on Saturday, June 18th, 2o22 starting at 7pm. Open to anyone over the age of 21. Come out and enjoy a night on the town celebrating dads!

SAVE THE DATE!

• First 50 registered individuals to show up at the event will receive a FREE t-shirt!!!
• First 100 registered individuals to show up at the event will receive a FREE beer ticket to a participating bar/restaurant!
• Visit at least 4 of our participating bars/restaurants and be entered to win our grand prize!

Participants will be assigned a specific bar to start at, but then may crawl the downtown bar scene as they please!

December 2nd to 20th – Window Decorating Competition:

Many downtown businesses went all-out to decorate their storefronts and windows. More than 20 businesses participated in the 10th annual Window Decorating Contest.

December 2nd to 20th – Elf on a Shelf Scavenger Hunt:

Elf on a Shelf is the new “Where’s Waldo”! Beloved to children, we joined this recent fad that has swept the nation. By finding the elf at participating businesses, families snapped selfies with the elf and were entered to win great prizes.

December 3rd to 20th – Wreath Decorating Contest:

Wreaths were provided by the DDBA to community members who wished to decorate them and allowed us to display them downtown.

We encouraged participants to decorate their wreath to resemble what the holiday season meant to them! Community votes determined the winner of an awesome gift card!

December 14th and 15th – Book & Art Exchange at Logos Books:

The community was invited to bring a book and a piece of art and receive the same in return!
